Professor Lajos Nékám (1868-1957) was the founder president of the Hungarian Dermatological Society, an outstanding, distinguished personality of global dermatological community in the last century. The Hungarian Dermatological Society founded the Nékám Award in 2007. The first two awardees were Professor Dr. Stephania Jablonska and Professor Otto Braun-Falco. The silver plaque can be donated at most once a year to internationally recognized dermatologists in honor of their lifetime achievements in the field of dermatology. The Nékám Plaque is the highest award of the Society.
